ReplyDeleteFrei is a proven commodity in this league so a trade to keeper-weak Harrison Energy Drinks sounds legit, but TFC will need to pick up a veteran, Jon Conway-like back up/competitor for Kocic. The million question is what would TFC get in return.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of his contract continuing until the end of next season, JDG was allowed to shop for a new club during the remaining part of the summer transfer window after the big German arrived is not outside the realm of possibility. His form flourished (along with the other supporting cast members) once the other two DPs came on boards in the final 9 regular season games as well as CCL matches so perhaps he could use that as springboard for a final bigger, longer term pay day back somewhere in the more pleasant climes of the Iberian Peninsula. I could see him "striking while the iron is hot," so to speak, instead of simply seeing through the final year of this particular contract and letting the chips fall where they may.
^excuse the typos (Rick Parry...oops!). In particular I meant to say that JDG's "return to Europe" is not outside the realm of possibility.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the JdG makes a move in January scenario. Winter wants an experienced central defender and Dunfield has been protected in the expansion draft. Then again, I have been expecting this departure for a long time now...
