  1. I think Joao Plata may have been the hugest flash in the pan. Once people realized you could muscle him out of plays it was over.

    1. That's not exactly true, people were muscling him out right from the get go in mls (and I'd imagine, every single place he's ever played), and he managed to overcome it. problem is he's got no left foot, so his 'cut inside to the right foot' move became too predictable and defendable.

      He's still got a lot of work to do to develop enough moves to keep defenders guessing to give him the extra bit of room he needs so he can't be muscled out. wouldn't write him off completely, though i'd be surprised if he ends up making a big impact at tfc or in mls as a whole.
